Itinerary
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fez
in our 4 days Merzouga Desert Departure from Casablanca, pick up at the airport or hotel in Casablanca departure to visit the mosque of Hassan II, then to Rabat, to visit the administrative and political capital. Departure to Fez, via Moulay Idriss, holy city and visit of the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Lunch in Volubilis or Meknes, known as the “Versailles of Morocco”. Visit the monuments of Meknes. Arrival in Fez. Dinner and overnight in riad.
Day 2: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
Today you will leave Fez to reach the “Switzerland of Morocco” Irfan (ski region) and pass through the forests and monkeys of the Middle Atlas in Azrou, then arrive in Midelt: it is the geographical center of Morocco. Enjoy your evening in a beautiful Kasbah in traditional style. Departure to Merzouga through the “Gorges du Ziz”, a strange canyon with oasis and date palms.
Then you will reach the first sand dunes of the country and beautiful oasis. Short visit to the ancient capital of Tafilalt: Sijilmassa (Rissani). After Rissani continue to Merzouga, the desert oasis, these are the edges of the largest area of dunes, after the dunes of Chegaga or southeastern Morocco, and integrated with lush palm groves, surrounded by the reddish golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Then take a camel ride into the depths of the Sahara. Enjoy the peace and space of the fantastic dunes and the romantic sunset on one of the tops of the huge dunes. Dinner and overnight in a typical desert environment (Night in luxury nomad tent).
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After sunrise, the camel ride continues for 1 hour to a nearby inn for shower and breakfast. We will then leave the desert and head to Rissani, where we will visit a fortress and a kasbah. After lunch, we will drive through an area of fossils, small villages and oasis until we reach Tinerhir. We will visit the cliffs of the Todra Gorges and then the canyon of the Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight in Hotel or Riad
Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, departure to Ouarzazate via Kelaa M’Gouna, the city where the annual Rose Festival is held. Lunch on the way to Skoura in a small Moroccan restaurant, continuation to Ouarzazate, once in Skoura stop to visit the Kasbah Ameridil, continuation to Ouarzazate, founded in 1928, today center of the famous film. Stop en route to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most beautiful in the region and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. After visiting the Kasbah, continue to Marrakech. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel / riad.
