Morocco Fun Tours was founded by Moroccan travel professionals who saw a gap between expensive and impersonal on one end and cheap and unreliable on the other. We are based in Ouarzazate. Our team grew up across Morocco, from Fes to Casablanca to Agadir to the Atlas. We do not read about this country. We live it.

Is Morocco safe for solo female travelers?

Yes, generally. The bigger concern for most solo women isn’t physical danger; it’s persistent vendors or unofficial guides pushing for attention or money. Morocco is rated as generally safe for tourism by the UK Foreign Office, US State Department, and Australian DFAT with standard travel precautions.
Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Exchange inside Morocco at banks or official bureaux de change. As of 2026, 1 USD is approximately 10 MAD.
Arabic and Tamazight (Berber) are official languages. French is widely used in tourism and business. Spanish is common in the north. English is spoken in tourist areas.
Pack layers, not just light clothes. The temperature difference between a Sahara night and a Marrakech afternoon in April can be 20°C.
Dress modestly outside of resort areas. A light scarf for women visiting mosques and rural areas; covered shoulders and knees in medinas for everyone. Your guide will brief you on each context.

Best Time to Visit Morocco

Spring

(March to May) is the best season overall. Temperatures are ideal across the country; the desert is comfortable before summer heat arrives, and the High Atlas still has snow on the peaks for dramatic scenery.

Autumn

(September to November) is nearly as good. October is particularly strong, with extraordinary light and fewer tourists than in spring.

Summer

(June to August) works well for coastal cities like Essaouira, Agadir, and Tangier. The Sahara, however, reaches 45°C or more and is not recommended for most travelers.

Winter
