Day 2:  Casablanca → Rabat (Capital of Morocco)

We take the Atlantic Coast after breakfast to the beautiful capital of Morocco, Rabat. The city is a mixture of the past and the serene, with classic places such as the Hassan tower and the mausoleum of Mohammed V, which are works of Moroccan artistry. Explore the quiet Kasbah of the Oudayas with its blue and white streets and overlooking the Bou Regreg River. 

One can have lunch in the Medina or close to the sea, followed by some free time to visit the souks of Rabat or to take mint tea along the ocean. Get a comfortable sleep in a riad, with the contemporary comfort on the one hand, and the Moroccan charm on the other hand.

Day 3: Asilah -Tangier-Chefchaouen

Distance: Approximately 158 KM

Duration: About 3 Hours 2 Minutes Drive

The present-day drive continues the journey along the North coast of the country to Tangier, the place where Africa and Europe meet. See the famous Hercules Caves, in the form of an ocean, and experience the fresh Atlantic breeze at Cape Spartel. Then there are the Rif Mountains, and the road runs to the intangible Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of Morocco. 

All the angles here are bathed in blue and white, and a soothing contrast to the coast. Stroll the old Medina, visit the Outa El Hammam Square, and head to the Kasbah to have panoramic views. Dining out and staying in a classic riad with the serene blue streets.

Day 4: Chafchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fès

We get out of the blue streets after breakfast, and we proceed to the old Roman city of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with mosaics, marble columns, and ruins of large villas. It is like walking back into history when walking through these ruins with green hills and olive trees all around you. The entry fee of $7 has informative placards in the English language.

Then we go to Meknes, which is one of the imperial cities of Morocco, visited by its royal gates and tranquility. Visit the Bab Mansour Gate and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, which represent the golden age of the city. The road takes one to Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco, after exploration. Overnight and dinner in a riad in the old Medina, the air is filled with the sound of prayers and the fragrance of spices.

Day 5: Fes – Explore the Old Medina & Hidden Treasures

This day is dedicated to discovering Fes, Morocco’s oldest and most authentic city. Wander through the Fes El Bali Medina, a maze of over 9,000 narrow streets where craftsmen, markets, and mosques bring the past to life. You’ll visit Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest in the world, and the colorful Chouara Tannery, famous for its traditional leather-dyeing pits.

See the Bou Inania Madrasa, an architectural gem of carved cedar and zellige tiles, then enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant. The afternoon allows time to explore the Royal Palace Gates and take a panoramic view from the Marinid Tombs. In the evening, relax back at your riad, surrounded by the city’s ancient soul.

Day 6: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

Distance: Approximately 470 KM

Time: Approximately  7 Hours 51 Minutes Drive

We leave early for a scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style houses. Then, a short stop at the Cedar Forest of Azrou to meet friendly Barbary macaques. The landscape slowly changes from green mountains to golden desert plains as we reach the Ziz Valley, lined with palm groves and kasbahs.

By afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, gateway to the Sahara Desert. As the sun sets, enjoy a camel ride over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and witness the sky turn crimson and gold. Dinner is served under the stars in a desert camp, followed by Berber drums around the fire, a night you’ll never forget.

Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Distance: Approximately 269 KM

Time: About 4 Hours 3 Minutes Drive

Get up and see the sunrise upon the Sahara, which is a peaceful and strong experience. We drive out for breakfast and towards the Todra Gorges, where the red cliffs are spectacularly stacked up above a thin crystal stream. It is the heaven of nature and photographers.

The highway is then directed to the Dades Valley, which is the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. Palm groves, red canyons, and lovely Berber villages dot the landscape. Dinner and a night in a comfortable hotel, with a view of the valley, where the silence of the desert is transformed into the dream of a quiet night.

Day 8: Ait Ben Haddou -Marrakesh Day 8: Ait Ben Haddou -Ouarzazate -Dades Valley

Distance: About 350 km

Time: About 5 Hours and 57 minutes drive

We go on, in the twisting paths of the Dades Valley, through old kasbahs, and red masses of the rocks formed by the wind and time. The highway will lead to Ouarzazate, the so-called Hollywood of the African continent, where numerous renowned movies were filmed. You will visit the Atlas film studios, where movie sets of such classics as Gladiator and Game of Thrones are located.

Then we would explore Ait Ben Haddou, the most famous fortified village in Morocco, and a new UNESCO World Heritage. The stroll in its earthen lanes is like going back to the old times of the caravans. You may go up to the peak to enjoy a beautiful scene in the valley of the desert, an ideal place to take a photo before lunch.

The road ascends here, through the High Atlas Mountains, over the picturesque Tizi n’Tichka Pass. The trip shows amazing scenery and small Berber villages stuck on mountain slopes. In the evening, you come to Marrakech, the Red City. Night and dinner in a beautiful Riad in the old Medina.

Day 9: Visit to Marrakech- Red City

Today you will sink into the vitality and the hue of Marrakech, which is a city that juxtaposes old wonder with life’s energy. We will begin with the Majorelle Garden, designed by French artist Jacques Majorelle and then owned by Yves Saint Laurent, which was a quiet retreat with exotic plants and rich blue walls.

Then go to the Koutoubia Mosque, the tallest structure in Marrakech, and the Bahia Palace, a Moroccan art and architecture masterpiece. Explore the crowded streets of the Medina, where each street corner is full of spices, handwoven carpet shops, and handicrafts.

In the afternoon, rest with mint tea on a terrace looking at the Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where snake charmers, musicians, and food stands make the evening alive. You can take dinner at your own time, perhaps have a rooftop restaurant with a city view under the dazzling lanterns.

Day 10: Marrakech Departure or Extension

You will have a relaxing breakfast in your riad, and you will be taken to the Airport of Marrakech or Casablanca Airport, depending on your flight schedule.
